If you're Star Wars fan then chances are you already know that Disney and Lucas film recently revealed their plan they call "Journey to the Force Awakens" that entails the release 20 new Star Wars books ranging from kids' activity books to comics and novels leading up to the release of Episode 7. We've just gotten details today on the first major novel to be released titled Star Wars: Aftermath. The novel will be the first to give us the details of what exactly took place after the events of Return of The Jedi. This will be Disney's and Lucas film's first step in developing a whole new trilogy that will cover the thirty year timeframe between the Battle of Endor and the beginning of The Force Awakens. I wonder how much the post Return of The Jedi Star Wars universe will differ from the highly popular and well loved (Heir to the Empire) book by Timothy Zahn.
The official discription from StarWars.com reads like this:
"The second Death Star has been destroyed. Rumors are flying that the Emperor and his enforcer, Darth Vader, are dead. A new government is forming to replace the Empire. But the galaxy is a big place, and the fallout of this cataclysm will affect different worlds in different ways. Does everyone accept the fall of Imperial rule? Has everyone even heard the life-altering news? What rushes in to fill the vacuum the Empire has left? And who will try to stop them?"
Aftermath is set to be released in September and is being written by Chuck Wendig,
